Part of the British Council 'Knowledge is GREAT' Lecture Series and SMU's Global Business Thinkers Series

Join Ann Francke, CEO, Chartered Management Institute, and Michael Jenkins, CEO, Roffey Park Institute as they discuss and debate topical issues on Women in Leadership and Compassionate Leadership respectively.

Ann Francke will explore the complex issue of the gender pay gap and address issues like unconscious bias, and discuss how inspiring emerging leaders and nurturing female talent is critical to closing the gender pay gap whilst recognising there is still a lot of work to be done to achieve gender balance in the workplace.

Michael Jenkins will examine the role of compassion in the workplace and how leaders can reposition compassion in a way that is meaningful, actionable and delivers results and how organisations are 'missing a trick' by overlooking the human dimension of productivity - understanding the dynamics of work and the relationships we have with our managers and colleagues.

The two 20 minute talks will be followed by a Question and Answer-led panel discussion moderated by Dr Flocy Joseph, Programme Director for SMU Executive Development
